An old referral is showing on a new order

Why a promoter or referral might appear on an order it shouldn't.

Written by Trybe Fm

Sometimes an order shows a promoter or referral that you didn't expect. Usually that comes from an old referral saved in the browser from a previous purchase.

What happens

When someone buys through a promoter link, the link is remembered in their browser. If they come back later and buy something else from the same browser, the old referral can carry over to the new purchase.

The cleaner way going forward

To get a clean view of which channel drove which sale, use a separate promoter link per Instagram story, post, email, or campaign. That way every sale has a clear source and you don't have to guess.

If a specific order looks wrong
